Brittany Haney Navetta
MA, LLC, NCC

My background in mental health begins with my own personal journey in therapy. I have participated in therapy to grow and heal over the course of a decade and continue to attend therapy for my own well-being. I became a therapist because I experienced, first-hand, the power of having someone who truly listens and it has been my passion to provide that space for others. I received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Oakland University and currently hold an active license in the state of Michigan, as well as memberships with the National Board of Certified Counselors, American Counseling Association, and Michigan Mental Health Counselors Association.

I have experience working with individuals (18+) and partners who may have a variety of concerns. Some of these concerns include, anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-doubt/lack of self-esteem, family of origin issues, issues with trust, relationship conflict, not-parent-expected (NPE) events, and many others. My therapeutic approach is integrated and holistic, which means that I choose to utilize multiple theories, interventions, and approaches through a trauma-informed lens to best suit your needs and goals. The therapeutic approaches I lean toward most often include, Humanistic, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT).

I believe that each person should be viewed as a whole: body, mind, and spirit. I take special care to provide services through a multicultural, intersectional lens which offers understanding on how complex, layered identities, and the influences of society, play important roles in one’s life. I am a BIPOC ally, as well as a member of the LGBTQIA+ and Neurodiversity Movement communities. I pride myself on staying informed, knowledgeable, and reflective in each of these spaces to offer the most culturally-competent care possible. My goal as a healer is to place emphasis on a person’s positive traits, strengths, and behaviors, and instill trust in their personal instincts to find wisdom and acceptance within themselves.

I look forward to hearing your story and sharing in this journey with you.
